Perez met at Soccerex Asian Forum in Singapore is not specifying in detail which team will represent the La Liga menyambangi Southeast Asia and which country is chosen because the new will be announced later this year.

Director of La Liga Francisco Roca Perez said that about 17 matches will be proposed for the 2010/2011 season in order to increase the popularity of the Spanish teams in Asia.

Premier League clubs of England, especially Manchester United and Liverpool have many supporters in Southeast Asia and La Liga are determined to pursue the huge market in Asia.

"Our goal is to become one of the famous league in Asia," said Perez, on the sidelines of Asian football forum, Soccerex Asian Forum in Singapore.

"The teams do not like to make changes but I think this change is a big opportunity and there is no other way," he added.
Severe recession

Perez said the time was right to seek markets in Asia after the Spanish national team won the World Cup in South Africa.
